José Miguel Arroyo Delgado is a Spanish matador. His artistic name is Joselito, which he shares with José Gómez, the mythical matador from the beginning of the twentieth century. In 1985 he made his debut as an apprentice at the Las Ventas bullring in Madrid and the following year he took the alternativa. In 1987, he was seriously gored by a bull. This dramatic event, which kept him out the ring for a couple of months, marked a new stage in his bullﬁghting style. In April 2011, the Council of Ministers of Spain awarded him the Gold Medal for Merit in the Fine Arts.
