José Antonio Vázquez Taín is one of the most popular judges in Galicia, known for his friendliness and humility. In his first post he achieved extraordinary results in his struggle against drug trafficking, especially the capture in 2003 of the largest stash of cocaine in Galicia this century. In his most recent post he has dealt with major cases such as the theft and subsequent return of the Codex Calixtinus. In 2013 he published his first novel, Santiago, la leyenda del santo oculto.
With Espasa, he has published the novels Al infierno se llega prisa and El mar sin fondo, and, in non-fiction, Matar no es fácil.
