A portrait of the development of the textile industry in parallel with the political and economic upheavals of a turbulent Barcelona in which the story of a forbidden love tries to find a place.
In January 1939, Franco’s troops march triumphantly into Barcelona. Among them is Mauricio Casasnovas, handsome as a movie star. Heir to a textile company, his golden future promises a submissive wife, nights at the Liceo, the finest tailors and high-class prostitutes. But the brutality of the war has opened a hole in his heart that only grows larger.
Despite being married, Mauricio discovers love and passion for the first time with a worker at his factory whose husband is imprisoned. Tormented by not being able to possess this woman completely, Mauricio commits a terrible deed the guilt of which will haunt him forever. In addition, his conjugal life hides an enigma so devastating and surprising that neither he nor anyone else has ever suspected it.
