Carmen Pacheco (Almería, 1980) began her professional career as a creative copywriter for the agencies Saatchi & Saatchi, Shackleton and Kastner & Partners.
In 2007 she decided she needed a change and tried her luck in the world of literature. Since then she has published four books for children and young adults, winning the "Leer es vivir" prize given by Editorial Everest with Misterioso asesinato en Oz (A Mysterious Murder in Oz, Everest, 2009). She was a finalist in the "Premio Gran Angular" with the YA novel En el corazón del sueño (In the Heart of the Dream, SM, 2011) and twice a finalist for the "Premio Barco de Vapor" given by the publishers SM with Tres veces la mujer de gris (Thrice the Woman in Grey, SM, 2009) and La verdad sobre la vieja Carola (The Truth About Old Carola, SM, 2012).
Together with her sister, Laura Pacheco, she’s the author of the comic Let's Pacheco!: Una semana en familia (A Week with the Family) and often contributes scripts to the web comic Let's Pacheco!
She regularly writes columns for the magazine Redes para la ciencia, the digital edition of S Moda and Verne in El País.
