This is a series about football, but not just football. It deals with the small (and big) things that
boys face every day: friendship, school, older kids... and football, of course!
In the first book of the series, The Piranhas are The Sardines. They are last in the league and
they leave the field with jeers instead of trophies.
The team that makes the most fun of them is the leader of the league: The Sorcerers. They are tall and strong (and they aren’t exactly known for playing fair.)
But one fine day Nico shows up. He’s crazy about football and urgently needs to find a good
team (Nico can’t live without playing football).
Nico is accepted onto The Sorcerers but, as luck would have it (an injury to his meniscus!), he ends up playing with The Sardines. The team’s efforts pay off and they are playing better and better. They become The Piranhas, and The Sorcerers aren’t amused at all...
Over the course of the series, the players on The Piranhas will have adventures, learn to work
hard to reach their goals, to respect each other and value their differences, and things on the
field will improve exponentially.
At the end of each book there is an extra section with tricks for playing better, curious anecdotes about football, etc.
